Maria Vasquez

María L. Vazquez is a Professor of Copyright, Media Law and Legal Aspects of the Internet at the Universidad Católica Argentina . She holds an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School, and completed the coursework for her PhD at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Her professional background includes several years as in-house counsel in the music industry in London and New York, and serving as partner for the firm Marval O’Farrell & Mairal in Buenos Aires, with expertise in copyright, entertainment and media issues. Recent research topics include the challenges faced by the music industry in the internet era (“ Modifying Spotify ?”) and the study of internet content regulation, privacy and surveillance policies in the Latin American region. Maria lives in Buenos Aires and also holds a degree in film from the Argentine Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica.
